Brie Mine | Original Cheese Acrylic Painting | 13 × 18 cm

I love cheese. Brie, cheddar, blue cheese, pretty much anything that belongs on a cheeseboard. In fact, I'm a firm believer that a selection of cheeses, some crackers and a glass of something nice constitutes an entirely acceptable evening meal. So naturally, cheese was always going to end up in my collection of food paintings.

Brie Mine is an original acrylic painting featuring three different cheeses, hand-painted on a 13 × 18 cm canvas board at Kauter Studios. I wanted to capture the different colours, textures and shapes that make cheese surprisingly interesting to paint. From the soft, creamy appearance of brie to the distinctive details of blue cheese, there's rather more going on than you might expect from a few bits of dairy.

It's a cheerful little piece of contemporary food art that would look lovely in a kitchen, dining room or alongside other colourful food paintings. Particularly appropriate if you're the sort of person who orders the cheeseboard instead of pudding. I completely understand.

This is the actual original painting I created, not a reproduction. Every brushstroke has been painted by hand, and the finished artwork is signed and completely unique. There's only one original available, so once it's sold, that's it.

If you love the artwork but would prefer a more affordable option, Brie Mine is also available as a fine art print in A5 and A4.
