First Breath | Original Acrylic Painting

There are moments in life so powerful that everything before them feels like waiting.

First Breath is an original acrylic painting from my Breathe collection, capturing the intimate first moments between a mother and her newborn baby. Held close, skin to skin, this piece reflects the raw, overwhelming emotion of meeting the person you've carried for months and finally holding them in your arms.

It’s a moment of exhaustion, relief, love and disbelief all at once. The world narrows. Everything else disappears, and there you are, breathing each other in for the very first time.

As part of my Breathe collection, which explores the defining breaths of our lives from the first to the last, this painting represents the beginning. The first breath outside the womb, as a mother.

This is a personal piece of contemporary motherhood art, created to honour the tenderness, strength and life-changing intimacy of those early moments. It’s ideal for collectors drawn to meaningful, emotional artwork and makes a beautiful piece for a bedroom, nursery or family home.
