I Can't Breathe If You Aren't | Grief Art Print

I Can't Breathe If You Aren't is a grief art print from my Breathe collection, exploring the overwhelming pain of losing someone you love and the impossible task of learning to live in a world without them.

Grief isn't just sadness. It's the empty space at the dinner table, the instinct to pick up your phone and call someone who can no longer answer, and the moments when you briefly forget they're gone before remembering all over again.

I wanted this painting to capture the physical weight of loss. That feeling when your chest tightens, the world carries on around you, and you can't understand how something so enormous can have happened without everything else stopping too.

Part of my Breathe collection, which explores the defining breaths of our lives from our first to our last, this piece represents one of the hardest breaths we'll ever take. The breath that comes after losing someone who made life feel worth living.

And perhaps the cruelest part of grief is that we have to keep breathing, even when the person we wish we could share those breaths with is gone.

This meaningful contemporary art print is for anyone who has loved deeply and lost someone they never imagined living without. A piece that doesn't try to make grief beautiful or offer easy answers, but simply acknowledges how profoundly love and loss can change us.
