Nanny’s Little Helper | Original Granny Acrylic Painting on Canvas

Meet Nanny's Little Helper, a sweet little old lady enjoying a peaceful afternoon on a park bench.

Forget knitting, crosswords and feeding the pigeons. This particular granny has discovered a rather different way to pass the time, and it involves something considerably stronger than a flask of tea.

Part of my 'People Doing Things They Shouldn't' collection at Kauter Studios, this original acrylic painting features an elderly woman sitting on a bench, casually indulging in something she probably shouldn't be. She's old enough to know better, but frankly, she couldn't give a shit.

I love the idea that we automatically assume little old ladies are innocent, sensible and spend their afternoons doing perfectly respectable things. Nanny's Little Helper rather spectacularly challenges that assumption. She's not bothering anyone, she's enjoying her retirement, and she'd probably tell you to mind your own bloody business.

Hand-painted in acrylic on canvas, this original painting combines bold illustrative styling with dark British humour and a wonderfully ridiculous contrast between appearance and behaviour. It's funny contemporary wall art for people who appreciate unusual characters, inappropriate jokes, and artwork that gives visitors something to talk about.

Whether you're looking for quirky original art, a cheeky addition to your gallery wall or a gift for someone with a particularly dark sense of humour, this little old lady is anything but ordinary.

This is a completely original painting, created and signed by me. There's only one, so once she's gone, she's gone.
