The High Jump | Funny Olympic Medallist Art Print

Meet The High Jump, an Olympic medallist who's discovered a rather unconventional way to celebrate her sporting achievements.

Years of training, early mornings, strict diets and complete dedication to her sport, only to celebrate like this, standing on the podium wasn't quite enough of a high. Someone might want to give the anti-doping agency a ring.

Part of my People Doing Things They Shouldn't collection at Kauter Studios, this funny Olympic athlete art print is all about the ridiculous contrast between what we expect from people and what they actually get up to. There's something particularly entertaining about an athlete who's spent years treating her body like a temple before deciding to make some spectacularly questionable decisions.

Originally hand-painted by me in acrylic on canvas, The High Jump combines bold illustrative styling with dark British humour, sporting satire and a healthy dose of irony. It's colourful contemporary wall art for people who appreciate unusual paintings, slightly inappropriate jokes and artwork that doesn't take itself remotely seriously.

I created this collection because I love artwork that makes people look twice. Something that looks fairly respectable until you notice the little details and realise what's actually going on. Whether you're decorating your living room, creating a quirky gallery wall or looking for a funny gift for someone with a dark sense of humour, The High Jump is certainly going to get people talking.
