The High Jump | Original Olympic Medallist Acrylic Painting on Canvas

Meet The High Jump, an Olympic medallist who's discovered a rather unconventional approach to peak performance.

Years of early mornings, gruelling training sessions and complete dedication to her sport, only to celebrate her success with something that's definitely not on the approved nutrition plan. Someone might want to give the anti-doping agency a ring.

Part of my People Doing Things They Shouldn't collection at Kauter Studios, this original acrylic painting features an Olympic medallist who thought that winning a medal wasn't quite enough of a high.

There's something wonderfully ridiculous about taking someone who's supposed to represent discipline, fitness and healthy living and painting them doing the complete opposite. I love that contrast between the people we expect to behave themselves and the rather questionable things they might get up to when nobody's watching.

Hand-painted in acrylic on canvas, The High Jump combines bold illustrative styling with dark British humour, irony and a slightly inappropriate sense of fun. It's contemporary wall art for people who appreciate unusual paintings, outrageous characters and artwork that doesn't take itself remotely seriously.

Whether you're looking for funny original wall art, a quirky sports painting or something that will make your guests look twice, this one's a definite contender for gold.

This is a completely original painting, created and signed by me. There's only one, so once she's gone, she's gone.
