Oh My Gourd | Original Pumpkin Acrylic Painting | 13 × 18 cm

I have a bit of a soft spot for pumpkins. They're wonderfully shaped, come in the most gorgeous shades of orange and somehow manage to look cheerful without even trying. It's a shame they spend so much of their lives being associated with Halloween, because I think they're far too lovely to only appreciate for one month of the year.

Oh My Gourd is an original acrylic painting of a pumpkin, hand-painted on a 13 × 18 cm canvas board at Kauter Studios. I wanted to capture those rich, warm orange tones, the natural curves and all the little details that give pumpkins so much character. There's something really satisfying about painting all those different shades of orange, especially when the finished result is this colourful.

This little original painting would make a lovely addition to a kitchen, dining room or colourful gallery wall. It's perfect for anyone who loves botanical art, vegetable illustrations or contemporary kitchen wall art that doesn't take itself too seriously. And although it would look brilliant amongst autumn decorations, I deliberately wanted to create something that could be enjoyed all year round.

Unlike an actual pumpkin, this one won't end up going mouldy on your doorstep because you forgot about it after Halloween. Which is a definite advantage.

This is the actual original painting I created, not a reproduction. Every brushstroke has been painted by hand, and the finished artwork is signed and completely unique. There's only one original available, so once it's sold, it's gone.

If you love the artwork but would prefer a more affordable option, Oh My Gourd is also available as a fine art print in A5 and A4.
